1 hr Parents and Carers “Knowing Me” Information session – Online
1-hour Parent / Carer Information Session – explaining “The Knowing Me Tool”
Across Cheshire and Merseyside a new neurodiversity profiling tool is being rolled out to support professionals and families to identify the strengths and needs of children and young people, who may be neurodivergent, before, during or after any formal diagnosis.
The tool will enable support, strategies and adjustments to be made at the earliest possible stage.
The roll out is gradual across the region and varies by place as any professional completing the tool must go through a training process. Some areas have many schools participating and some are still working it as a trial with specific settings before further roll out.
As a parent / carer, if your school or setting is talking to you about the “Knowing Me” profile tool or you want to understand more about it, this session will enable you to:
- recognise how and why the Tool is helpful in the process of supporting the needs of neurodivergent children and young people.
- understand the graduated approach and your local ND Pathway.
- increase knowledge and skills around the use of the Tool
- feel prepared for the Knowing Me tool process and able to support your child or young person to feel prepared.
- feel confident to engage with professionals to collaboratively apply the tool so that your child / young person’s needs are better understood and supported.
