ADDvanced Solutions have developed a new learning programme around “Preparing for Adulthood” and we are delighted that we have been commissioned to deliver this in Knowsley, St Helens and Warrington, to parents and carers whose child or young person is awaiting assessment and is 11yrs+. There is the option to attend face to face or online and sessions begin in November.
This is a structured, 6 session learning programme supporting parents and carers as their young person approaches adulthood. We will cover the most important topics that parents are thinking about at this time including the 4 key pathways set out for PfA in the SEND code of practice:
- Planning for transition
- Supporting independence
- Reasonable adjustments and SEND
- Further education and employment
- Independent living
- Community inclusion
- Relationships
- Good health and wellbeing
- Local provision and services.
